The Caribbean Migration and Transnational Experiences

Speaker: Dr. Monica Jardine (Guyana/USA) - teaches sociology, postcolonial theory, cross-cultural studies of women in the global system and historical studies of capitalism at SUNY Buffalo and is completing a manuscript, The Subaltern Caribbean Nation: The Crisis of Postcolonial Identity in Guyana and the Anglophone Caribbean. She has written the entry on “Caribbean Migration/Caribbean Diaspora” for the Encyclopedia of the African Diaspora (2008) and “Migrations and Nations” for the Handbook of Identities.
